On Tuesday, 2 April 2024, Class X students embarked on a remarkable educational journey to Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC-SHAR) located at Sriharikota, Nellore. The visit provided them with an immersive experience in rocket and satellite technology, leaving a lasting impression on their young minds.

Mr. V. Ramanjaneyulu, a renowned scientist briefed and delved into the intricacies of space missions. The students gained insights into the operations conducted at the Mission Control Room during rocket launches, including the fascinating details of the Gaganyan project, successful first-ever soft landing of Chandrayaan-3 on the Moon's uncharted South Polar region, and upcoming projects. Exploring launch pads 1 & 2, sound radar, and radar navigation stations, students learned about the four stages of a launch mission, as well as the use of different fuels and environmental considerations in rocket operations. The highlight of the visit was the introduction to GSLV and PSLV launch vehicles, currently employed by ISRO for satellite launches. Students were captivated by the process of producing solid rocket motors, testing flight systems' space worthiness, and executing launch operations with precision and professionalism, showcasing ISRO's commitment to innovation, dedication, and teamwork. Moreover, the students discovered the wide-ranging applications of satellites, from telecommunications to disaster management, resource allocation, and more, underscoring the crucial role of space technology in various sectors. The visit also included an exploration of the Space Museum's three divisions, further enriching the students' understanding of space exploration and technology.

The School Academic Director, Ms. SrutiSainathuni lauded the sincere endeavour of the students and their fascination towards learning about science and technology. She said that this real-time learning experience was indeed educative, interesting and stoked their spirit of enquiry and love of learning even more. The Honorary Correspondent,  Mr. G.V. Bhaskar, the Principal, Mr. M. Mahesh accompanied the students. They said that their enthusiasm and curiosity flourished during the visit and inspired to embrace the wonders of science and technology with renewed vigour.
